ii software package provides minimalist FIFO and filesystem-based IRC client, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install ii
ii is installed in your system.
Make ensure the ii package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep ii *
You will get with ii package name, version, architecture and description in a table
